Staying Safe the Day After Daylight Savings Time

Sun setting on horizon

Did you know that the odds of getting into a car accident increases significantly the
Monday after Daylight Saving time? That’s right! The combination of
drowsy driving and an extra hour of darkness are to blame.

If you have kids, they
could be waiting for the bus in the dark. As your local independent agent, we are warning parents to remind their children to be more aware of cars as they head out to school this week!

Tell you kids to stand back from the curb while they’re waiting for the school bus. If they have to cross the street, insist that they are extremely aware of their surroundings. Many drivers will not be used to driving in their new lighting environment at first, since it’s going
to be a little darker.
