What to Do if Your Car Overheats
It’s going to be mighty hot outside today, and if you have an older car, it’s entirely possible that your car could overheat this summer. Do you know what to do if your car overheats?

If the
temperature gauge on your vehicle reaches close to the”h”, there are some things you could do
to prevent your car from actually overheating.

Turn up the heat: Start by turning the heat up in the car as high as possible. This will cool the engine and the temperature should drop. Turning up the heat in your car  will register with your gauge and prevent overheating.

Just add water: If you are familiar with where the antifreeze and reserve tank are on your car
you can add about a half a cup of water. This will dilute antifreeze
but circulate the water throughout
the engine, and help prevent overheating.

Vehicle overheating problems happen for a number of reasons. Never ignore your temperature gauge while driving. Use the tips above to help prevent your vehicle from overheating until you get to a service station.
